History of Ogasaka Ski North America
After long history of ski making in Japan, Ogasaka Ski was finally introduced in the US and Canadian market in 2004. Ogasaka Ski Japan has been with North America for many years; they have been using Maine and Quebec’s sugar maple wood as the main wood core materials. Now they come how as one of the finest crafted skis. Ogasaka Ski provide quality and value to skiers in the US and Canada.
2002- Ogasaka Ski was introduced by Sho Shimoda and Jeff Yingling

History of Ogasaka Ski JP

In 1911, skiing was introduced in Japan by the Austrian Army. The following year Mr.Ogasaka, furniture craftsman, produced the first pair of skis in Japan. Since then, Ogasaka has made landmark and innovative technologies in the quest to produce the perfect ski. In recent years, the name “Ogasaka” has dominated demonstrator competitions; our concept of making skis is preciseness of turns, which earns us trust from many professional demonstrators. 1911- Austrian Army introduced skiing to Japan
1912- Ogasaka Ski become the first ski manufature in Japan. Hamataro Ogasaka, then a furniture craftman, first produce skis for Iiyama high school.
1919- Ogasaka Ski make skis for The Imperial Household Agency of Japan.
1920- Ogasaka Ski first produce skis for Japanese army.
1932- Ogasaka Ski started to produce 5 layer plywood XC skis.
1934- Ogasaka Ski first successfuly produced plywood alpine skis.
1958- Ogasaka Ski becomes incorporated.
1959- Nagano-city issues factory attracting ordinance and Ogasaka moves from Iiyama Nagano to Nagano city Nagano pref.
1964- Ogasaka Ski start to produce glass-fiber skis. The 1st national demonstration selections event was held. Ogasaka athletes has been selected as a national demonstrator member every year since 1964.
1966- Begins to develop and manufacture steel fiber ski s(model name SF)
1967- Begins to sell SF model skis. Debut of glass fiber competitive model skis. Expansion of the new manufacture for better production.

1969- Begins to make skis with the evolutionally steel edge, NeoFlex
1970- Tokyo office opens
1971- All Ogasaka Ski models started to use glass fibers
1971- Ogasaka Skier Miyuki Katagiri compete in Sapporo Olympics
1973- The world first Kevlar skis were developed. Sapporo office opens
1974- KV model debut
1975- New and added manufacturing facility. Ogasaka Ski Sales and Distribution Co. was formed.
1977- Ogasaka Ski Trading Co was formed
1979- Begin to develop and manufacture glass fiber cross country skis
1980- Ogasaka skier Osamu Kodama places 6th in FIS SL world cup. Osamu Kodama compete in Lake Placid Olympics
1981- Ogasaka Ski made the world first Silica skis (limited version of 1000 were sold)
1982- Houyu baseball field foundation (none profit organization) was formed by Ogasaka Ski
1983- Ogasaka skier Osamu Kodama compete in Sarajevo Olympics
1985- Ogasaka Ski starts to manufacture snowboard
1986- Ogasaka Ski starts to manufacture snowboard
1987- Ogasaka Ski manufactures the world fist alumina skis, CHEDAR-X
1990- Ogasaka Ski applies new glass fiber with stronger and more elastic, T glass fiber, for their Unity models
1991- The new material, Sifer ®, super fine metal with 500kg/mm2, developed by Kobe Steel Inc was used in Unity SV model.
1992- Begins to develop Junior jumping skis JP. Race competitive model TR made debut
1994- Ogasaka Ski manufacture the world first Super Unity series with new material Torqrex, developed by Arisawa Inc. Ogasaka Ski also manufacture the world first FFU core skis, Unity C-VX.

Ogasaka skier Mituo Horigome competes and win 2 golds in Junior World Championship 30k Free, 40k relay, 1 bronze 10k classical in Austria. He also competed in Norway Olympics.

1995- Ogasaka Ski manufacture the new, cap and Sandwich construction, “Triple Super Construction”, model name TS7 and TS6
1996- Ogasaka Ski registers and file paten Twinkeel Construction.

Keos reformed with Tiwnkeel constructioin, Keos Twinkeel, VII Twinkeel

Ogasaka skier Mituo Horigome compete in Nagano Olympics, 7th in relay. Mituo Hrigome also placed 10th in FIS World Cup 10k Free

1999- Ogasaka skier Mituo Horigome place 7th in FIS World Cup..

2000 millennium model P-FC/X debut

2000- Triun SL model was reformed with Twinkeel Constrution
FC-X model debut
SA-N model was developed with Ski Association of Nagano
2001- Ogasaka EC was introduced, for new skiing style, carving racings, skier cross, mogul, park
Ogasaka EC-Type R lead the new carving skis seen, used by 8 skiers in top 10 of carving ski competition
2002- Ogasaka skier Mituo Horigome and Hidetoku Isa compete in Salt Lake Olympics

Front Lead Function was introduced
AN, Ogasaka’s 90th anniversary skis was produced
